KY/Barkley conditions after the rain?
I know both lakes came up about 2 feet or so, but is it predicted to go down in the next few days, or should I get the flippin stick out and head for the bushes? How bad did the rain affect the lake? Also, do you think by mid-week the lake will get to more "normal" conditions? Thanks in advance for any and all help.

great question..was wondering the same thing..so bump
RE: KY/Barkley conditions after the rain?
I would say with all the water going down the ohio they won't pull either real hard,if it makes it back in the shore cover that is where i would be,it's too much fun.
TVA corps site predicts.....
The website predicts that the lake will begin to fall after Monday. for what it is worth, but it is a slow fall. You may be able to find some shallow, but I can also see them starting to pull out with the falling water.
Here's the URL for the TVA site for KY Lake:

I hope this helps.
Tight lines and God Bless

RE: The weekend on Barkley
I had some friends down there this weekend. They said Barkley rose almost a foot on Friday while they were fishing.
They said most of the creeks were rolling mud, but the main lake was clear. Eddy Creek was super muddy all the way out to the main lake.
Once they start pulling, all of that muddy water will hit the main lake.
Possibility of more rain later this week....
RE: The weekend on Barkley
Well I fish a tourney on Barkley out of Kuttawa this weekend. Saturday the lake was up about a foot maybe clear to slightly stained out on the mainlake, the east side creeks that i went into were heavy stained to MUDDY. Sunday the whole lake was stained to muddy in the creeks. We fished from Kuttawa north maybe different south.
RE: KY/Barkley conditions after the rain?
I was on the lakes all of last week and weekend. After the rains bays on both lakes were extremely stained, actually muddy. The water is way up and because of the heavy rains and winds a lot of the grass on KY has been messed up and washed out.
I wouldn't expect them to drop the water all that fast due to the amount of water coming down the Ohio River from Louisville. I wouldn't be afraid to say that the water will remain higher than planned for a couple of weeks.

RE: KY/Barkley conditions after the rain?
Barkley is a mud hole....Ky is stained. Both lakes are being pulled back down...they are presently about one foot over what they were before the rain hit (12 inches here at the house).
