mhall, amen to ya! I passed a CITGO while driving back from Louisville today and had the same thoughts. My money will never go to CITGO again. My money will also never support a Danny Glover movie again either. What an idiot!

I could not agree more. If evryone on this sight doesn't call BASS, then they should be ashamed also. I am calling right now, I'll report what they have to say.
7-11 just officially decided to not buy their gas from Citgo anymore. Chalk one up for the good guys.
Amen guys. I'm emailing BASS and ESPN right now. If they want to use CITGO then they don't need this old vets money. Anyone who would put a cent into that communist slug Chevezs' pocket should have to go live with him. Now's the time to pledge never to buy another thing from anyone connected with CITGO........
zap this crap, I am so sick of hearing all this boycott junk. Not one of you understand that that piece of work in venezuela does not see a dime of the profit from YOUR gas purchases at citgo. The venezuelan gov't is the prime owner of citgo and Chavez is an ELECTED PRESIDENT. So us hating chavez is like the rest of the world hating bush. Its pointless, just a waste of O2 griping about it. You can boycott citgo all you want but chavez is not going to lose a penny personally, and dam sure isnt going to change his mind. The only thing you do by boycotting citgo is hurt the private AMERICAN business owners who choose citgo from which to buy their gasoline. Now if you wish to send a message to the VENEZUALAN GOVERNMENT, start talking all the gas station owners in america to swith gas suppliers. Again, this WILL NOT AFFECT HUGO CHAVEZ, but you may give the venezuelan people a reason to vote for someone else, highly unlikely though.
good lookin out kyle. need a valium? lol
haha, yea, I get off on a tangent every now and then. hows the new ride david?
Hey Kyle, take a chill pill bro! Ha ha ha!!! I know what you're saying though! Before anyone takes up a position or backs an issue, they better have done their research!
I am not supporting Citgo or BASS on their decision, because I really don't know the facts. I do know this however, any and everything we all buy in this country is touched by someone down the road who we may not like. I read an article recently that said something like 40% of American Business, is not even American. Take into consideration the stock market and the people who import and export and I'm not sure there is a single person in this country who is not supporting a cause they dislike, like Terriosts.
I sold radio in my early 20's and the company I worked for Viacom owned the rights to Howard Stern. The station I represented WGRR Oldies 103.5 had no affiliation to with Howard Stern directly, but I had a customer cancel his ads because he felt as if he was in some way supporting the Howard Stern show and he could not look his church members is the face knowing that. I asked him, do you have cable TV, he said yes. I said well you better cancel it, Viacom owns over 40% of the stations (at that time) on your cable. And guess what, you monthly fee goes to the same place. I said do you buy any kind of grocery items? Yes he said, I said well Viacom and it's stock holders are big in that market as well.
Mormal of the story, I could have went on for hours with examples, this guy was a hipocrit. But to get to my point. I'm not sure we could all live if we boycotted everything we dislike then we would be in a tough spot. Heck I have a hard time watching my beloved Bengals anymore because all I'm doing is supporting their Drug and Alcohol problems
Matt
Citgo gas stations may or may not use Citgo Gasoline.
Citgo no longer runs any of the stations in the US.
Citgo only wholesales and in some cases NOT TO the Citgo Stations.
In some cases Marathon Stations MAY be buying gas from Citgo or just about anyone. Shell, etc may also be buying from a wholesaler who buys from Citgo or who knows.
Basically the only people we are hurting by not buying from Citgo is the guys who bought the stations before Venezuela was taken over by the moron from hades. Worse yet we would be hurting the employees who work in the stores.
HOWEVER we can let BASS know that we do not appreciate their accepting money from terrorist loving companies.. Although Citgo US is owned and operated inside the country.. as I understand it, it is a subsidiary of the Citgo in Venezuela and has contracts it can not negate with US suppliers.
WORSE yet is the FACT that much of the gasoline we use is imported from Saudi, Iraq, Venezuela, The Congo, Canada, or some other country. Want to make a difference?
Lets ask the guys who make boat motors to switch to Alchohol and other fluids.. and work on a Hybrid Boat as well.
Just my 2 cents worth.

What did Danny Glover do?
I'm not nieve, (spelling), to believe I'll hurt anyone's pocketbook by not using their gas. Jim Dicken, read my post, it say's KNOWINGLY USING CITGO GAS, I'm also aware of how all that works too. You guys are missing the entire point. The OWNER AND CONTROLLER of Citgo in public run our country and it's president into the ground in front of God and the world. This isn't hearsay or gossip Matt Plapp, do you live in a cave or not watch the news. ESPN and B.A.S.S. have decided to align themselves with thugs that hate the U.S. , if you guys are alright with that then you are probably part of this liberal anything goes movement and that is your perogative to do so, have at it. I for one will not, if I can all help it, it's called, PERSONAL SATISFATION, ever heard of it. Have a good day, Mark Hall.
