500 Bass and counting....
Maybe not that many but it feels like it. We have been to Cedar Creek Lake many times over the years and still have not caught a keeper sized bass. Today we caught 30 or so with the biggest being a 14" bass with several 12-13" as well. It was fun and i'll keep going back but what's it gonna take? What time of the year and if it's not asking to much what lure has anyone used to get a keeper here? I'm really gonna hit it harder this spring!! Thanks

RE: 500 Bass and counting....
I've only fished Cedar three times myself...and we caught fish everytime...but found the same thing you did as far as size goes. I've got a buddy at work that fishes it regularly. I saw a picture of what looked to be about a 17-18" fish that was caught on one of those big Zoom Lizards, pumpkinseed with chartreuse tail, Carolina Rigged. He says that he's caught more than one like that and he believes that they come from some old ponds that were on the land prior to flooding the lake. I've got no idear. I've heard of a big smallmouth that was caught too, which is obviously a holdover from the creek...I don't doubt that.
What kind of fishing pressure is this lake getting now? (I haven't been in a little over a year.) I'll bet it's packed with boats on the weekend isn't it?

I've been within an 1/8 of a keeper, several times now on all kinds of lures. DD22 cranks around edges of trees on really windy days and when it is bluebird skys and HOT. Also swimming jigs with paca craws. When you get ahold of a 18 or 19in fish down there, you are going to be suprised... Hold On!!!!! Good Luck!! :7

We put in at the middle ramp and today was not that busy. The water we fished today was wide open for us with little to no company (maybe thats why we can't boat a keeper!) The water color was clear to off colored. Today was absolutely beautiful out there gotta thank the Lord for this day.
