Gold City Anglers win two Boats
Midwest Sportsman conducted their annual three-day national classic on Ky/Barkley Lakes 4-6 Oct. This year 359 teams competed for the first prize of two 591 Nitro bass boats. All the teams competed the first two days combining their two-day total weight to qualify to fish on Friday as only the top 100 teams competed on the final day with all weights being zeroed. On Friday all 100 teams that fished were guaranteed to cash a check. On the last day 14 teams from the Gold City division competed for the money with Four teams finishing in the top ten. The E- town team of Dave Pedigo and Gary Martin won the event with 16+ lbs. Their prize was valued at approximately $46,000 dollars. The team of Hesse and Robbins of Brandenburg came in third place with 13+ lbs and received a cash prize of $5000. Congratulations to these and all teams that qualified.
These teams qualified by fishing a series of tournaments on Barren, Rough and Nolin Lakes from March-June. This Year the Gold City Division will be conducting a Fall/Winter circuit that will enable teams to qualify for next year’s classic and frees up teams to fish other circuits (Federation Nation, KBF, etc.) during the 2007 season. We will also be running the March- June schedule. The qualifying lakes will remain Barren, Rough and Nolin Lakes.
