Herrington Lake
Tried to go and drown some shiners today, hoping to pickup a hybrid or two, or maybe a big flathead. I went to Coffey's (used to be Keyes) and the entire ramp and parking area was under water. Had a H_ _ _ of a time backing out and getting turned around. Then went to Bryant's and could have probably got in there, but really could have used a chainsaw, there was so much driftwood up next to the ramp. I said 'heck with this'..actually something worse, and turned around and came home. Lot of work wasted to get the boat out etc. for naught. I wasn't even fishing let alone catching...lol

RE: Herrington Lake
I fished Herrington at Quinn Sunday. I was able to put my boat in but it was difficult. I fished the "Hog Back" with minnows and crawlers and lost a good fish by breaking 12 lb test line. Never saw it but it was not a catfish because it hit and was gone so I think it was a Hybrid. I caught a good number of nice bluegills and put them in the freezer. Saw no jumps or activity on the banks. The bass were holding on drops off of points but were not in the mood.

RE: Herrington Lake
I know all things considered, it wasn't much of a trip to go around the lake to Quinn's or Chimney Rock, but was too frustrated at the time to do it. The bass in my pond got to feast on 7 dollars worth of fresh shiners though.

RE: Herrington Lake
I let almost all people fish...it's a hard pond to catch them out of though. I think they are us't to being fed, not caught. We and all the neighbor kids swim in it too. I throw all the girls back....if they're under age 18..lol
