It never fails...
It was 1:30 am, I went to bed at 11 pm. I can't sleep. Another case of pretournament jitters where I wake up every 10 minutes, look at the clock, and try to get more sleep. I know it completely useless because as soon as I start to nod off again, I'm going to wake up and check to clock again. So what do I do. Get on Fishin.com and decide to just stay away til 4:30am before we leave for Nolin. I might need a Red Bull "iv" in me today.

RE: It never fails...
I as well feel your pain, but I'm not up to fish...I do however get the same way you are describing each and every night before a tournament. I still do after 20 plus years of tournament fishing, it doesn't go away at least not for me. Heck I even get that way before going deer hunting each and every morning of the season I am going to hunt.... I guess I'll stay this way until I totally quit hunting and fishing...P.s. Still same effects also when going to fish a new body of water.....

RE: It never fails...
I spend the night prior to fishing sleeping like a baby. Dreaming all night about hooking, fighting and landing the big uns. I wake up refreshed and so excited about the adventure ahead I can taste it! Then I go to the lake and have boat trouble, can't get minnows, fight the wind, get sunburned, get skunked, and have a flat on the way home. Then that night all tuckered out from my day of fishing, I spend all night again dreaming of the big uns.

Man all I do is sleep real good knowing that all I have to do is dead stick my baits and the fish will come calling. Which they did with the four fish that I weighed in Sat. I did have a hard time sleeping afterward because I know I forgot one good fish out there because I wiggled my lure too early and the fish swam by, it looked to weigh at least 5 lbs. Oh well at least I won.}(
