RE: 3D Fish Finders question
I haven't seen the new ones, but I had one from Lowerance several years ago. I think it was an X70A. It could be a very valuable tool for people that troll. I could see not only the depth, but which side of the boat marks were on. That means if I saw marks more to the left than the right, I could slide over in that direction. I could also see a grid contour of the bottom, which is key for structure fishermen. The thing I didn't like about it was the only way I could switch to 3D was to turn on the fish symbols. That means everything marked as a fish instead of arcs or pockets of bait. So I usually just left it in 2D..
RE: 3D Fish Finders question
Humminbird has a new 3D system that is the latest technology. It is the 987c. It is quite expensive ($1800), but when I get the money, it will be the one I buy. It actually produces an image that can show trees, stumps, logs, and even fish. The images look like you have underwater vision. And, it gives GPS coordinates, too. There is a user forum that has photos of images. It is a good user forum that is updated used several times daily. . Good Luck!
