shakey head rod
Has anyone used the Loomis Shakey Head Rod (SHR822)? I was wondering if it had enough back bone to use a 3/16oz Bitsy Jig. I'm also looking into buying a Loomis IMX Rod for Jigs. I mainly use 3/8 and 1/2 oz jigs. Would you recommend the Md.Hvy or Hvy action?

RE: shakey head rod
used the 822 shakey head but only for 1/8 & 3/16 shakey heads, great feel and plently of backbone. Also fished a dropshot on it with success. There is a DSR820S - GLX rod that is incredible feel and the titanium recoil guides on it... costs about twice what the shakey head rods are though.... ...Before you buy the IMX take a hard look at the new mossyback rods from G-Loomis. The price is better than IMX and it is very hard to notice any difference in feel.

RE: shakey head rod
Anyone else have any info on the Mossyback rod? Are they just as light and sensitive as the IMX? Help me out I need to submit my X-Mas list to the family.

RE: shakey head rod
My understanding the Mossyback are GLX banks, with different rod guides and finish.

RE: shakey head rod
they are not glx blanks but a composite of the glx blanks, that is out of a G-Loomis rep. The feel is great on them, if you get one have someone run their finger across the tip, you can feel the ridges in their finger prints.

RE: shakey head rod
I would buy a GLX for the jig rod I got a 7'1 MH and I love it plan to buy a couple more when I can get the money up, thats the only problem with them. But if your limited on funds I would buy the Mossy back over the IMXs they run about the same in price.

RE: shakey head rod
We have an awesome Shakey rod. We also designed a sweet shakey head. If you would like more info on them just let me know.
