RE: Dale Report Fished Sat!
What color jig did you use on the fly and I was told the lake was turning over, any info on this? 4 1/2 pounder was a blast was it not?
RE: Dale Report Fished Sat!
I am at work and really couldnt finish my report..lol ... but i have some free time now. The lake is turning over, IT was a suprise to me as it got daylight more and more i could see that something wasnt right.. BLACK water.... I used a duck feather jig with a little green craft hair in it. I made that one myself, feels good to catch a fish on something you make. The only reason i caught that 4.5 pounder (weighed on a digital scale) was i seen birds swooping down into some shad on a bluff close by. First cast and a few twithches, my bobber was gone. Its was a fighter. To be honest, if i would have known the lake was turning over, i wouldnt have went. It should be right for float and fly weekend though. I am looking foward to that.
Tightlines,
Greg Stacy

We caught 9 Friday fishing with live bait around the Hendricks Creek area. Our temp gauge said it was about 56 to 58 degrees and you could tell the lake had turned over in that area. I can't wait to get the fnf going around Christmas when I can get back down.
RE: Dale Report Fished Sat!
Thanks for the report Greg. Dale during the turnover makes it hard to catch fish on the fly. They will usually head to the bottom and feed on crayfish or shad near the bottom for the black water makes it difficult for the fish to see and they can't chase or see the shad very well. Plus they can't see the fly in the black water to hit the FNF. I have solid pink and solid yellow FNF jigs that I would have tried if I was there this week for they can be seen easier than the Duck. If you hit it again during the turnover, try a 1/8 ounce punisher hair jig (Green and Orange) with a piece of Uncle Josh pork as a trailer. Slow retrieve trying to keep in contact with the bottom anywhere from 10-20 feet on points.
RE: Dale Report Fished Sat!
The High pressure that moved in SAT. did not make anything easier. Bluebird skies and black water and high pressure does not make a good combination. Thats ok though.... I will ponder on my mistakes and apply them to Float and Fly weekend. Atleast I got my float and fly season kicked off with a good fish !!! I will try to post a pic of my fish on the website.

Is that a #101 or #11 pork chunk?
