Rebuild an old Shimano Bantam??
I would like to rebuild/upgrade this old reel that I have had for many years. I bought it used from a friend so I'm not sure how old, but I would guess close to 20 yrs old. I'm mostly interested in new/more bearings and a better drag system. Any ideas on where to order parts or have the work done? I live near Louisville, but do not mind to ship or drive if necessary. Thanks.
Joe

RE: Rebuild an old Shimano Bantam??
Good luck, I have a Shimano Bantam Mag plus about the same age and its hard to get the right parts. I bought what was suppose to be a brake knob for my reel and turned out it wouldn't fit, I'm just hanging on to it until I find another mag plus to buy for parts.
RE: Rebuild an old Shimano Bantam??
I have two Shimano B-Mags, 100 and 101 sitting in the garage
that I haven't used in years. Both work great or use them
for parts. E-mail if interested.
RE: Rebuild an old Shimano Bantam??
If you want to do the work yourself. I would suggest that you get a repair dvd from Lake Fork Tackle. Connie has put together a great step by step way to rebuild and clean your reels. Also you can get any parts you need. Another great source for part is Southwestern
Parts dot com. I have redone all of my reels by using these two sources. Good Luck

Thanks for the info. I'm going to price it at Bull Frog Creek and buying the parts to do myself. Thanks again all.
