Anyone know about Fishing out of Miami. I am thinking of going to the Orange Bowl and fishing while I am down there. Any suggestions? Also looking for a place to stay if anyone knows of anything?

A buddy of mine grew up there and he always bragged about the canals being a great place to fish for bass. These canals run all over the place down there. He mentioned smaller worms in natural colors and minnow plugs (rapalas). Depending on the area you go... but alot of the canals have Peacock bass, Oscars and Largemouth to catch. I understand the water is very clear in the canals and has alot of rocks or Coquina(sp?) these are dense groups of shells that form ledges along the canals. I hope this helps. Bowl time is sailfish time! Take a day and run down to the keys, about an hours drive from Miami. Get on the net and see if you can book a day with Alex Adler out of Islamorada (I think Bud and Mary's Marina), he's one of the best. On the expensive side, but it's only money.
