The Derby City Fly Fishers Show
Louisville to Host Kentuckiana Fly Fishing Show
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Oct. 26, 2006) - The Derby City Fly Fishers will host the
Kentuckiana Fly Fishing Show on Sat., Jan. 27, 2007, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. at the
Holiday Inn Airport South located at 2715 Fern Valley Road. The event,
which will feature nearly 70 exhibits, is expected to draw over 800
delegates from Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, Michigan, Maine, Georgia,
Alabama and Missouri.
The one-day event will offer participants educational seminars, product and
instructional demonstrations related to fly fishing, all in a setting that
will delight the young and old, the novice and seasoned angler. Nationally
recognized fly fishing casting instructors, fly tiers, authors, guides and
fly shops will also be on hand.
"Louisville's location, with its proximity to many bodies of water suitable
for fly fishing, was the ideal place to hold this conference," said Larry
Drake, president of Derby City Fly Fishers. "The sport of fly fishing has
gained popularity in the upper mid south United States and Louisville is
conveniently located to serve the interests of the growing number of
sportsmen in our region."
The mission of the Derby City Fly Fishers, Inc. is to promote conservation
and preserve, protect and restore natural resources. It is also charged
with educating and stimulating interest in fly fishing for all species of
fish, on all waters, and to reach out to youth and encourage an interest in
the sport.
The Kentuckiana Fly Fishing Show is open to the public. Tickets are $6.00.
