I would like some pros and cons of these new units. The new 797 c2 si is priced about the same as lowrance 25x, I just don't know if I'm smart enough to operate it!!! I fish KY., Barkley and DALE 99% of the time. Seems to me it would be awesome for these lakes. Any and all thoughts would be appreciated.
I have the 987cSI. Worth every penny and easy to operate. I fish KY 99% of the time and it is awesome. You can eliminate structue not holding fish fast. I fish for bluegill and shellcrackers most of the time and can easily find beds 100 ft away. I am going to try and get down to KY next week and bluegill fish. You are welcome to take a free ride. The only draw back to the 797 is the narrow screen. The wider the screen the better the resolution.

I also have the 987. So far, I haven't found anything about it I don't like. I wish I had done a better job of mounting the xducer in the bottom of the boat. It loses bottom fairly quickly. But that was my fault.
