Harris chain of lakes near Leesburg. Check in with the CainPole south in Leesburg and Bill or Jimmy will hook you up.

Are you going through a guide or on your own? If using a guide you might want to look into Stick Marsh/Farm 13. It's not a good as it use to be but it still gives up some good fish. December is a good month for big fish too. You might want to do some research on Toho as well.
I would go to EITHER Okeechobee or to Stick Marsh/Farm 13 and Ansin Garcia..
The 3 are really close together and I can recommend guides on all of those lakes..

I have fished with many of the guides listed and enjoyed my time with all of them. I highly recommend Eddie Perry on Okeechobee and Hondo Webb.
On StickMarsh I like to go with Hugh Crumpler.
These are the lakes producing the best right now as far as BIG TROPHY FISH.. Stickmarsh/Farm13 is a Catch and Release ONLY lake so the fish are getting to historically large proportions.. Okeechobee is coming back from record low water and the fishing is tremendous. Lots of 100 fish days on that lake with some awesome crappie and redear there too. I have seen nests of redear that were over 30 square yards in area or MORE.

A few years ago , some friends and I went to the Rainbow River near Ocala .It used to be an area that Hannon mentioned frequently that could have contained a world record .Of course , we didn't catch the record but we did catch some fish there . Also nearby is the Ocala national forest which has some "un-pounded" water . The Withlacoochee , Ocklawaha and Crystal Rivers are closeby also . Several options in a pretty compact area . The Rainbow runs into the Withlacoochee .The Rainbow is crystal clear , the Withlacoochee is tannic stained from cypress .Where the two meet , there is a breakline that is indescribable .Really something to see .
