Kentucky Fishing
I was just looking for some help on lakes to fish around the Natural Bridge\Red River Gorge area. Heading down to your fine state of Kentucky in June to see what the lakes down there have to offer. Also, anyone know of any private cabin rentals available on Cave Run Lake. Thanks for the help, oh, and Bass and Crappie are my targets.

RE: Kentucky Fishing
You've got a pretty good drive to get to any of the major lakes I'm aware of from Natural Bridge. Unless I'm missing something obvious, Cave Run is by far the closest to you.

I like Buckhorn Lake. It is full of Crappie and they have a slot limit on Muskie. Biggest Secret in the Eastern Part of the State. The State Lodge is wonderful. Talk to the guy in charge of Maintenance there. He knows the lake inside and out and is very helpful.

There is a minor lake. Mill creek lake. Fish deep or at dawn and dusk for trout. The bass fishing is a work in progress. Not really a good lake though.

I stayed at this Bed and Breakfast last time I was at Cave Run:

I really enjoyed it and the place was AWESOME with great prices and TERRIFIC BREAKFAST.
Close to Cave Run Lake and also to Crash Mullins place which is right down the road.
I hope you will give it a try. Fishing on the Cave in June can be really good for Bass, and for Muskie. White bass may be running in the river below the dam but normally that is over by mid may depending on the weather. Fishing from the bank below the dam can be EXCELLENT as well if you do not own a boat.. Look for grassbeds on the lake and for wood along the rock walls near the dam.

RE: Kentucky Fishing
Thanks for the help, I was going to rent a boat on Cave Run, don't feel like bringing mine down there for vacation. Sounds like Cave Run is my best option, right?
