Taking a kid fishing Saturday @ Dale
I am taking a hard core fisherman (my seven year old) to Dale Saturday. I want to fish near the ****, but I want to avoid a freezing ride also. (This is where I act like I don't want to subject the seven year old to a cold ride, but the truth is I am getting soft.) So, if I'm coming from Columbia I turn at Strange's, go past the State park, turn and go where? Is Wisdom the closest dock, or is there a closer eaisly accessible ramp?
BTW, anyone have color suggestions? Also, I need some more flies. Is Strange's the place to buy them on short notice? Thanks in advance.
P.S. If you see a TR19 with a 3'6" bundle of camo hooking his Dad on the backcast, stop and say, "Hello."

If you turn at Strange's in Burkesville, the first ramp you will hit is the State Park and Sulphur Creek, then Hendricks Creek, Holly Creek, Dale Hollow Marina, Cedar Hill all before you get to the dam. I think the closest ramp to the Dam is Horse Creek which you will have to go thru Celina to hit. Wisdom is not on this road at all. I don't think Strange has any flies at all, but I have not been in there in over a year so they may have changed. The One Stop in Celina is your best choice for all your needs plus it is the closest to the Dam. I don't know what you are fishing for, I presume Smallies, and if so Mid Lake to upper lake is your best choice due to water clarity. I doubt it has completed the turnover yet near the dam for it was not even close last week when I left on Friday. You can put in at the State Park and be fishing the Wolf in a matter of a mile or so, or put in at Hendricks and be fishing Mid Lake within a mile or so. Good Luck. FNF colors, Duck with Blue, with Chartreuse or with Red was the choice last week but it changed every day.
