Looking for a good place to fish
I'm looking for a good place to fish for a few days at the end of September. I would like to find a place where I can put my boat in and leave it, like the fishing resorts in MN and WI. I was thinking Rend Lake, but can't find anything. I would really like to avoid launching my boat everyday. I could go further south if it's good. Thanks, Tom
RE: Looking for a good place to fish
Assume you are meaning you did not find fish on Rend Lake. The resort is very good place to stay and has dock facaility.

Lake Shelbyville has Eagle Creek Resort where they have dock facility.

This is my home lake and the fishing is beginning to pick up. Hopefully with cooler weather moving in next week and the tail end of Katrina coming up this way presenting some good possibilties for fresh water. Bass have been difficult and crappie also tough. Have been catching numerous crappie that are fat but short. The white bass have moved up on some of the wind blown banks and are hitting the double-rigged twister tails, Little Georges and in-line spinners.
If you decide to come to Shelbyville let me know & I'll try to put you on some good spots...not said try...LOL

RE: Looking for a good place to fish
Barry,
Thanks for your reply. Do they have a boat ramp? I have never fished Rend Lake before. I am thinking of going the last week of September.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-05-05 AT 07:07PM (EST)[p]There is a vey nice ramp at the resort for Rend lake as well as several other ramps around the lake. Very nice lake. Depending on what you are wanting to fish for check with them at the marina at the State Park. Let me know wht you want to fish for and maybe I can help you out with some areas to check out.

P.S. Should be good fishing for crappie the last part of September.
