Talked to BH Sanders this evening,..............A guy he works with goes out this past weekend and fishes the FnF for the first time and the first fish he catches is a 7.5 pound smallie and backs that up with a 4 pound smallie..........needless to say he his a fnf fan for life (probably throw it in July). Ron said he saw the pictures to back it up......I'll try to get the pics to post.....
Re: 7.5 pound smallie from Laurel
I'm planning on hitting Laurel this weekend, so my presence will probably cause lake-wide lockjaw. Sure would like to have a story like this to tell next week, though.
Hey, smljaw ... tell your boy to forget about Cedar Creek and head on down.

Them big ol brownfish are definetly in that lake and other than dale hollow will probably come closer to putting 4 + fish in the boat than any other lake in the state. I fish laurel year round and I can't tell you the number of 5 1/2 to 6 lb fish that I have seen her produce this year and it is only getting better. At the rate she is gaining Ol Elwood may have to leave his honeyhole at the hollow and come visit us up here in search of the 12 lber. LOL

LMAO. Now Easy you know everyone knows that they are there but it is a totally different story when it comes to catching. Our smallies are special and have to be sweet talked and caressed gently before you can catch them. Harder to please than the ol lady. LOL

Hey Billy I won't be far away About 10 minutes in London working at the ol D.C. shipping out the groceries. That's is however lunchtime and I may just have to swing by and check just to make sure everyone is legal LOL Good Luck to all the meatheads down there cause I here they are really starting to come on. It's has been a very sorry winter for me for I haven't got to do a whole lot a fishing. Ahhh but there is always next week and I hope to be setting in one of my honeyholes freezing my rear off.

Don't count on me giving up Dale anytime soon for the 12 pound chase. Spent way too much time and money learning the spots that I have at Dale to give up on them to learn Laurel. I am sure I will hit Laurel one of these days but will be very difficult to drive past Dale to get to Laurel and basically that is what I have to do. I will say that a 7 1/2 pounder is a REALLY nice fish, no matter what lake she is caught in. I set a 7 pounder as my goal this winter but will only have one or two more trips to catch her this year in February.
