Just a question out there for everyone? I have always wondered what type of line everyone uses and why? It there one better then the other? I know this is the same thing and Chevy over Ford. I was just curious on what everyone prefers to use out there?

Line is getting expensive these days! I have always been a Trilene guy and willuse Trilene 90% of the time from January through December. XL and Big Game have always been good to me and you don't have to pull out a 20 dollar bill to pay for a spool. I have recently been experimenting with P-Line and like it so far. The P-Line Flouroclear is strong, casts well and isn't very expensive. Hope this helps.
I'm sure you are gonna get as many opinions about this subject as there is a**holes,but I don't think any 1 line will do all things there are several differrent kinds of line for differrent kinds of fishing. I think it all comes down to what you like and can afford, the only way I know what I like for sure is to try it myself.

I have been using Suffix for my slip-bobber Crappie fishing. Very low line memory so there are no twists....but there are so many brands out there it is like Ford and Chevy, experiment and use whatever suits your needs, Good luck.....
I also use suffix alot. It's my favorite pure mono and it's good for certain situaitions. It does stretch some so I don't use it for everything. I like gamma for copolymer this stuff is good for alot of techniques. The new seagur flourocarbon is also pretty good.
I've always had great luck with Ironsilk, however it's off the shelves right now and being redone. Hopefully it will be out soon. I've always been able to "feel" stuff better with Ironsilk than regular mono. Hopefully this new Ironsilk would just as good or better than before.
While I'm waiting for the new Ironsilk, I've recently been using the XPS Fluorcarbon line and have had pretty good luck with it so far. I figure if Kevin Van Dam uses it religiously, there's got to be something good about it!

Well, the post above hit the nail on the head. Your going to get quiet alot of opinions, and 1 brand of line doesn't do everything. Here is a list of whats on the front deck right now. Good post!
Cranking: 8 & 10 lbs test Fluoroclear P line.
Jig/Worm: Bass Pro Excel, 14/17/20 lbs test. I tie a Palomar knot, and I've never had it broken unless it was my fault. I change my line just about every other trip on a flipping stick and worm rod, so Excel is very cheap, and its never let me down. I just gotta have new line on the worm/jig rods. Otherwise, I'm not happy, lol.
Shakey worm rod: Fluorocarbon P Line 8 lbs - Switched from Fluoroclear last week, best move I've made. Expensive if it doesn't last long, only time will tell. But hookset is better, and feel is much better.
Float/Fly. 6 lbs P line Fluorocarbon leader, and 10/2 power pro braid for main line. 2 years on the main line, and have never had the 1st problem. Just wish I could catch one on a fly!!!!
Silver Buddy/worm rod. Excel 14/17. Used to throw 1/4 oz on a spinning outfit with 8 lbs test. Lost enough buddies to sink a boat!

You will love this answer lol-i use 12 lb stren -some 10 and some 6 lb. But i don,t change my line until i start to lose a few good fish-like to give the fish a break i would never use a braid line as i don,t use a dip net---It just teaches me how to play a fish better and i don,t lose that many ether. Don,t much care now days since i don,t fish tour,s any more-But i do horse a fish every now and then--right Wormin gl to you all :)
I use BPS Excell for most everything. I like their lines that are 12 lb test and above. Haven't been impressed with thir 8 and 10. I fish nights some and found that the excell fluro line is perfect. I do like P-line fluroc. for my spinning reels and casting reels that I throw jerkbaits and cranks with. The excell is affordable and does a good job. Memory is not the best, but since it doesn't cost as much as some of the others, I change it often.
Ive used Berkley Triline XT for years and never had a problem with it until last year. I dont know if I got some bad line or what , but I was breaking it off every time I gave it a hard hookset. I dont keep my drag set that tight , and it wasnt breaking at the knot. Since then Ive started using P-Line and so far I think its going to be the line Im going to stick with for awhile.
Mostly braids, cost is high for the first fill up, but some of my line has been on some rels for over 3 yrs, I test iot and its still as strong as I want it tobe. Crank baits braid20/6 crappie fishing braid 10/2 jig and pig, 20/6 or 30/8, float and fly 10/2. I do use a lot of mono when crappie fishing with jigs, like any premium 6 lb line. Most of my fishing with braids use flouro leaders of 10 05 15 lb test, like seagar for this.
I use Excel most of the time. It's priced right, easy to get and performs as well as any line out there. Any line out there can break under the right circumstances and most lines perform as advertised so after i tried most brands i settled on the economical choice, Excel.
