Pinnacle Reels?
Looking to replace a reel. Cheap reel for Cheap reel so to speak. Was looking at a Pinnacle in a catalog and then noticed that Wally World has started carrying about three different Pinnacle rells. Has anyone used these reels? Any count or worth fooling with. I'm a Shimano guy, but not going to turn this into an investment for what I use it for.

Re: Pinnacle Reels?
I bought a pinnacle at basspro about 8 years ago in Nashville. Don't remember which model I use it mainly for crankbaits. All metal frame low profile, paid 59.99 then. I can honestly say, it was well worth the money, I have done usual maintance on it oiling, cleaning etc... I can get model # if you like. I also replaced a reel this year, and had a wally world gift card and bought the pinnacle extant, green in color. I have not used it yet so cannot tell you alot about that one, but the other has been graet. I own mainly ambassadors 3600 and 4600's that everyone in our club makes fun of me for but that is what I grew up throwing. They are not the prettiest reels, but its what I like.

Re: Pinnacle Reels?
I bought a $100 Pinnacle spinning reel and it's broke three times sent it back twice and they fixed it first time replaceing the reel. Second they fix a lil plastic piece that kept the bail on. The final time it just locked up and its sitting on a shelf in garage. Just was never dependable...

Re: Pinnacle Reels?
Check Fisherman's factory outlet http://www.ffo-tackle.com/ I've never bought any reels from them, but I've gotten good deals on fishing line there. And they threw in some free samples of Berkley "Gulp!" baits, which pretty much offset the $4.95 s&h.

Re: Pinnacle Reels?
ambassador reels are the best for that kind of money. u can beat em and throw em and they still wont break. a 5000 or 5500 would be a model you could use to throw about anything. i highly suggest one of these reels if thats the money you are wanting to spend!

Re: Pinnacle Reels?
BPS has their Extreme baitcaster on sale for 59.99 now and I have a couple of them and have been impressed so far. For the money you can't beat them IMO.

Re: Pinnacle Reels?
A BPS reel is what I'm looking to replace. I have had twon different BPS reels and have a problem with the line slipping in between the spool and the frame. Have to throw heavy and keep the line tight during the cast to keep it from happening. May try the Pinnacle, but if not maybe the 5500. Never gone with any round bodied reels before, always low profile. Thanks guys for all imput.

Re: Pinnacle Reels?
if you like the low profile, then purchase a amassador 4600. you will not be sorry and it will last forever!! good luck with whatever you buy.
