Need ramp info please!!!!!
I'm headed to rough tomorrow to get the cobwebs out of the boat and poles, Need to know if I can put in at Laurel Branch or Axtel. I know about the state dock and the dam situation, but coming from E-town via 86, I don't know how to come in from the south.
Thanks for any help!

Re: Need ramp info please!!!!!
I am not sure why you want to take 86 to get to Rough (from the South). From E-town, I always take the Western KY Parkway to Leitchfiled exit onto 259 North. That will take you to Laural or Axtel, which ever you want to use. If you definately want to use 86, let me know and I will replot it for you.

Re: Need ramp info please!!!!!
Thanks Grumpy but I live i Rineyville, just west of E-town. I take 86 to 401 to 259, I come out just south of Mc Daniels. I get there in 40 to 45 min. But can I get to the state dock without going over the dam from that way?

No you can't get to the State Dock from that way, that I know of. You would have to go to Leitchfield and then take 54 to 79 from the SW side of the lake but that would be about 30 miles out of your way.

Re: Need ramp info please!!!!!
Thanks I was afraid of that.
Re: Need ramp info please!!!!!
I put in at Axtel last Friday. It was tight but it can be done. On the right side of the ramp there is a concrete barrel so be careful. Other than that good luck.
Re: Need ramp info please!!!!!
You can put in at laurel branch without any problems at all. if you're looking at the water stay to the right there is a big pot hole in the ramp from prop wash on the left. plenty of water there.

I see it doesn't do much good to report things to the Corps of Engineers. Last year, myself and at least three other people (that I know of) reported that pothole. I was told that they would fix it.
Thanks to everyone for the help!
I knew I could count oon everyone on the board for help,
Thanks again

Re: Need ramp info please!!!!!
I live in Vine Grove and go out 144 through Flaherty to 60 ( Time approx. 50 min.). That's beside the point. I was at rough Sunday and put in at North Fork. The long ramp is open there. I've never seen it too low for Axtel depending on whether you want to deal with the stumps on the steeper ramp. Water Temp 48 - 50 . Color - Like Kentucky mud.
