Alright the rumor mill has it that a 8lb brute was caught out of Dale. There goes my 8lber, LOL, man what a absolute pig. One of these days fellas, one of these days. I actually dream at night of catching my eight pound smallmouth. A fella I know said he saw this in the paper Sunday?????

You need to striper fish more. You could catch 8# all the time then and wonder when you were going to get a good one :D

if it was 8 pounds, it was a monster I bet...lucky guy or gal.... tight lines...
Got a 7 1/2 several years ago, in a small, less than 75acre watershed lake, in south central Ky. These were Dale transplants, but lost one even bigger in the same lake, it also produced an 11+ lb largemouth for me. Both fish were released,but the sad news is in that same lake I broke one off, and a week later she floated up, my jig in her craw, she was over 12, I felt real bad for such a nice bass to die. But an 8lb smallie, you can have all the ten lb lgmths,you want but that 7 lb smallie fought the hardest I have ever had a fish to fight,even hybrids, and I have caught them up to 14 on Barren, but those smallies are the bomb. Hope he took pictures and then released it as now you can get great looking fiberglass repoductions for about the same as killing one of these grand fish.

7lb and 8oz was the offical weight. The is a article in the Courier-Journal about it. It is a HOG!!!!!
