Re: Shaky head Jighead Size.
the spot remover is a good shakey head, dont set the hook.. just start reeling. i caught lots of fish this year at dale on the shakey head. remember to fish them slow on the edge of the grass lines
Re: Shaky head Jighead Size.
spot removers are old news. people use them because there cheaper. buy reaction innovation shakey heads. think there called screwd up shakey head. i usually use 1/8 ounce. no offense trent
Re: Shaky head Jighead Size.
I dont need to know what brand of shaky heads to buy i just need to know if the 1/4 oz jighead be a good weight to use on the shaky head on a clear deep lake like dale hollow?
Re: Shaky head Jighead Size.
I usually use 1/8 oz but will use 1/4 oz if I'm fishing over 15 feet deep.

Re: Shaky head Jighead Size.
Different conditions call for different sizes. I usually use a 1/8 or 1/16 when i can get away with it. If the wind is up I have to go to a larger size like a 1/4. I just keep different weights and try to get by with the lightest I can and still stay in contact with it on the bottom. Only you can tell which size that is at the time. Get you some different sizes and experiment. When I fished Dale last I used a 3/32 the first day and had to go up to a 1/4 the next with the wind that came in and then gave up on it because I couldnt stay in contact with the bottom. Good Luck
Re: Shaky head Jighead Size.
I have used shaky heads a lot on clear and stained water. When using shaky heads in depths down to 20' I stick with 1/8 oz. However, when going deeper than that I use 1/8 to 1/4 oz. (depending on the shape of the jig head). I make my own aspirin head jigs that fall at a fast rate, even at 1/8 oz. sizes. I also use florocarbon line in 8 and 10 lb. variaties (depending on the depth). Florocarbon will sink faster than mono.
