Fishicide????
In my haste to post about our week at Ky and Barkley, I forgot to tell the funniest thing that happened. On Wednesday, I make one of those pitches way back in the flowers that are mixed in with overhanging trees and branches right up next to the bank, you know the one - 6-8 inches to the left and it was perfect but the line hangs on the last possible tree branch before it hits the water. The Brush Hound is sitting there dangling just above the water with about 1/2 inch of the tail in the water and the rest out of the water. Before I can say a few choice words at the branch that caught my line, a 17" Greenfish launches completely out of the water and enhails my bait. I set the hook on instinct or the fact that he scared the $hit out of me, I don't know which, but the tree branch cracks and I reel in the keeper. All the while Chunknwind is up front cussing and swearing about the events that just took placed, something to the effect that how can I beat you for you are the luckiest man on earth. I called it FISHICIDE for this fish was trying to get caught and there was nothing that I could do to not catch him. I figure in about 20 years, the tree branch will become the tree trunk, the 17" fish will become about 8 lbs and it was with my FNF rod with 6lb test line not my baitcaster with 12lb Flouro, as I remind Chunk of the events that day.

Re: Fishicide????
That's great, I too have caught a few fish just like you said, but the limb never seems to break, so I have to horse the fish over the top of the limb.
Plus one time in a tournament, a keeper fish hit my jig and hooked up on a snag under the water. I literally had to go in head first while holding onto the side of the boat and retrieve the fish.
Good Luck to you all on those funny adventures....:D

Chunk had one on Thursday where he was over a limb and the fish swiped at it 3 times to no avail. He is cussing even more about the fact that his fish hits it 3 times to no avail under water while mine launches into outer space to hit my bait. If not for him putting an a$$ whipping on me Thursday for the first time ever, he may have been a bit more upset than he was.
