Dale Hollow Night Fishing
Anyone on here ever try night fishing in the summer for smallies. I hear it can be a great to catch some good brown fish. I was thinking about planning a trip sometime this summer. Maybe fish for a day with a guide and then try it on my own some. Any experiences or info would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Dale Hollow Night Fishing
Night fishing for Smallies, only my SECOND favorite way to catch them next to FNF season. Excellent way to catch fish. Blacklight, Flouro line, jig, main lake point or deeper secondary point will be a good start. I also slow roll a big single colorado blade spinnerbait and use tubes at night as well. Keep a tight grip on your rod with that spinnerbait tied on for they will ABSOLUTELY rip the rod out of your hand. Nothing like being half asleep around 3am slow rolling the spinnerbait and then you are grasping air trying to catch the rod that was ripped out of your hand. Dale is full of Smallies that eat at night plus you get away from all the idiot boats and other traffic that will be even more prevelent the next few years with Cumberlands lower water level. I would bet there are more boaters on Dale these next few years due to the dam repair at Cumberland. Night fishing will slow down a lot of that activity. If you have never fished Dale at night, bring a good GPS to navigate for "Islands in the Stream" and twists and turns everywhere will either get you lost or get you sunk. Good Luck
