Back to Barkley I go....

Have a nice couple of days at work fellas for I am off to Barkley for the next couple of days. I figure just about every pattern in the book will work from the Buck Bass shallow, to topwater early, to secondary and main lake points to ledges will produce all kinds of fish in all stages of the spawn to post spawn to summer patterns. 6 rods rigged with topwater, flippin, shallow plastics, c-rig, deep cranks and mid cranks and I bet all of them land fish on this trip. Doubt I will catch the 80 in 2 days I landed 2 weeks ago but will give it my best. May just get lucky and find one of these ledges that I have been told by a couple of people that gives up 50-100 fish a day this time of year. It will not be for lack of effort, tackle or motivation. Even if I don't catch a fish, I sure will catch a nice sunburn as the forecast goes. Later.

I was watching a show the other day and Mark Mendez was talking about how great the post spaw could be at KY Lake. He was talking about fishing ditches. He went on about how the big girls would stack up in large groups in the ditches. He did say that not all ditches held fish but if you could find one with some quality females in it that it would amaze you at how fast and furious the action would be. He boated 5 that went 27 pounds in less than 30 minutes and came in second...the guy that one found a ditch with 5 that went 28 pounds. A shallow/medium crank bait was his choice. He said he kept 2 each rigged up. He talked about how he would catch a fish hand the rod to his partner then grab another rod and throw right back to the same place and catch another pig. Apperantly the big females would stack up in a small area. If you find one of those spots you will deffinately be back in the hospital LOL.
