one more question about scales
Thanks For All The Replies On The Scales. I Looked On Ebay And They Had Several Digital Scales For Home Office And Warehouse For Shipping Small To Medium Packages. They Had One With A 35lb Max One With 50lb Max And One With 75lb Max, All From Buy It Now At 6$ To 20$ And They Say They Are Accurate To 2ounces. Would This Be Something Worth Trying For Fish.
Re: one more question about scales
The weigh max i see there should be a gd scale. They are accurate to 0.2 ounce and have good features. Just remember that with the price you will also have a $15 to $20 shipping price. We use this type if not brand scales at our tournys and they work very well.
Re: one more question about scales
Here is another thing you want to consider! You need to check and make sure that they are battery operated and 110-volt. I have a scale that is both and on one tournament the batteries were dead, I already had a power converter with me so I just plugged my converter into my truck and then plugged the scales into the power converter.
From experience the style that you want for tournaments is like this one I found on E-bay.
Item number: 130113258624 it has probably sold by now, it only had 53 min when I found it.
I hope this info helps you in your decision but if it is for a club you need to get good quality, it will pay off in the long run!

Ok I know this is OLD school BUT After YEARS of tournament fishing and seeing countless digital scale malfunction regardless of the cost or brand. I HAVE NEVER seen the old pull down grain scales let us down. There are some really accurate ones out that will stand up to lots of abuse. Also a pole stand is easy to make.
Hope this helps.
