With the water up like it is at Dale is any one catching any fish?
My buddy was there last week for 5 days. He said the fishing was tough, but they did catch a few. The bait that was producing the best was a Bandit 300 series crankbait in the yellow spring crawl color. They also caught some on tubes in the 10-15 ft range flats that were close to deep water. In these sames areas they caught a few on spooks. good luck!

Heard the same thing and also the grub bite has been hot as far as the smallies go. Main lake flats, pockets, and points and just inside the creeks, not in the back of them for the brown fish, but the green fish should be back there in the back of the creeks and around any lay downs if that is what your after or ain't picky. 4-5 inch fat albert grubs in smoke, chartouse, and white or pearl. Try dipping the tail alittle bit with spike-it garlic flavor if you can't get a hit soon...that little trick has been making a difference for alot of guys at the end of the day with a few or zilch. Good luck...283
Hello all, new to the board. Just wanted to let you know that i was at the hollow this past Sat. and the floating worm bite was decent in the flooded bushes and around sunken logs. I spent most of my time in Big Eagle creek. My brother went Wed night(5/30) and caught 8 smallies before 10pm so the night bite is good. Average was 2 pound. Good luck and I am fishing tonight so I will give an update later........good fishing!:)

Thanks for the report and hoping for a update. Was thinking about going saturday night awhile myself...just haven't decided whether to go to dale or Center Hill. Was the ones you caught smallies or slick heads since you were in the bushes?? I figured with the water temps right now being up the floating worm bite was gone. Goes to show you when you think you have them figured out, you should go the opposite and will do alright. :p
283 --- I'm goin' to CH this Thursday night and may be able to help provide some info...I'll make a post on Friday even if I get skunked -which I hope doesn't happen but have been there before so I'm crossing my fingers... gonna' fish the upper end for some spots and largemouth and if an occasional smallie nails our bait, I'll gladly net 'em..... tight lines....

Well 283, it was not the night I expected. I fished in the upper end of the lake and the water was crystal clear (see bottom 15ft) so bite was slowwww.:( Did go to another place and fished grass beds in 25ft which produced 1 smallie around 15 in, but not much else. I had alot of short strikes on the jig. You are correct about the floating worm bite, it is non-exsistent. Every cove was 79 to 80 degrees(Bath water!) I had 1 fish look at it, but that was about all. Oh well, daddy said there would be days like this:) I will try it again this weekend. Did you have any luck this weekend? Talk to you later.

I left the house around 7 o'clock with intentions of heading to the lake, but when I stop to fuel the boat right before I got on the Interstate at the 280 exit, mother nature showed up with a monsoon complete with hail, high winds, lightning and thunder and the whole works. I sat in the parking lot for over a hour hoping it would stop or slack, but never did there. We went ahead and easied on down to the lake with the rain flat coming down and it almost quit, but never fully. We sat again for over 45 minutes over looking the lake at the scenic view pull off at the bridge and decided to make it another night while the lighting was dancing around us everywhere. I told partner that it ain't worth it as bad as I wanted to go standing on the front of a boat holding a potentional lighting rod to get "lite" up like a crispy critter:eek: Going to try it again this coming weekend if all goes to plans as of now. Catch you later...283

Well, went yesterday evening to the Hollow from around 3:00 to 7:00. Had several hits fishing 18 to 20ft around deep structure next to weed beds, but could not seem to hook up with any. All my hits came off a 6 in power worm texas style. I think it would have really picked up after dark, but I could not stay that late. Going to Six Flags this weekend, but I am itching to get back to the lake! oh well, going to be a long weekend:( . Talk to you later.
