Bluegrass F&W Fishing Report for Friday May 25, 2007
Got to fish Otter Pit yesterday. It was windy and warm. Air temps in the upper 80's. Water temps at the surface was 78 deg according to my Minn-Kota Temperature gage on my trolling motor up at the front of the boat
I ended up keeping 18 crappie and one nice bluegill.
Fished from 6ft to 10ft deep with most of the fish caught around 8 ft deep along the edge of the drop off. Weeds were growing in the 6ft deep water.
Water is stained to cloudy with a green color to it due to the sediment.
It was a nice day but the wind made fishing difficult.
Always wear your life jacket if you are in a boat on the water.
My new Avatar is a digital photo of the crappie in my aquarium. The sign reads "No Fishing"

Fishing report for Memorial Day - fished some local stripper pits for bluegill this morning and caught 24 between me & my brother on nightcrawlers . Fish were hanging in and around the edge of weedbeds 2-6 feet deep . Water was clear and fish seem to bite better earlier when it was cloudier . Water level in the pit had dropped 2 feet from a few weeks ago , probably due to the lack of rain lately . Also caught 2 nice crappie on nightcrawlers . Back in the hayday of Hovey Lake I remember catching crappie while fishing for bluegill . Being on vacation this week I plan hitting the pits at Greene-Sullivan for trout , gill and what ever else is biting , wish me luck !
