Killing me not to be on the water, but I'm staying away....
Green did have a a large crowd on it Memorial Day weekend (saturday). I stay away from the lake on the big 3 (memorial 4th and labor)so it would be unfair for me to judge the size of the crowd. I had a tournament so I went into the crowd. I was upstream from most of the heavy traffic but the run back across the lake at 2pm was brutal. I did see one boat way upstream that absoultly had no idea where he was running... just out site seeing on a stump flat 6ft deep.
I live close to the lake and did see a boat come buy my house that was at least 30+ feet long with 3 motors hanging off the back. I would say that was a Cumberland boat heading to Green. The economy in our county can use the extra inflow of money so I have no problem with the extra crowd plus the fact that due to my work schedule I rarely fish weekends.
As for the turn out buy numbers. The local radio station reported that Cumberland had 220,000 visitors over the weekend and that number was down only 8% from last year. I cant remember the numbers for Green but they did report that it was up 40 some %. I was *thinking* they reported we had 40 some thousand visitors ? Like I said I am not for sure about the estimated number of visitors but the % was up an estimaed 40+% for Green
