Your antenna ia in a bad place. I would bet it is installed next to the driver's console. You need to move it to a location which is not obstructed on any side or from above. We learned this the hard way as Ranger initailly mounted the antenna on the console and we have had to move them to the backof the boat.

Thanks Bill,
I was wondering about that I will make plans to move it right away.

You can go to Bass Boat Central and ask a question on the GPS tips Thread and I bet you will get the same answer as stated above my post. The problem is the antenna is closer than 3 feet to the unit itself....Big time problem and sometimes it will keep the unit from finding it's position as well in the future....
Thanks

Maybe You Have Your Boat Overloaded With Gear And The Gps Won't Work That Low In The Water
Your Friend Stick
I fish with a friend who's gps was doing that and it was the cable connector coming from the antenna. Had to put a new one on it . Next time it does it reach around to the back and wiggle it if it starts working then that could be the problem....
I agree with the loose cable. I was with a friend and he did not have his cable connected tight. Also you may want to check all of your connections including your power connections.
