Heading to Cumberland June 28-30
I've fished Cumberland a few times, but not enough to know a whole lot about it. I'll be there on a short family vacation on June 28-30. Any tips, baits to try, types of areas to try (not specific spots) would be greatly appreciated. I know for that time of year, I will be fishing mainly in the evening and at night. I will have my nephew with me for a while...so I will go out early in the morning to let him fish...but the serious fishing will take place in the evening/night. Will be fishing for bass....largemouth, smallmouth, and spots.
Thanks in advance for your responses. :)

Jigs, gitzits, spinnerbaits, and shakey head rigged worm. Find main lake and first few points in creeks that have some cover (wood or chunk rock) and work them with those baits. Alot of the cover everyone is used to fishing is out of the water, but if you look around(during daylight) you will find stuff near the surface that was normally under 30+ ft of water. Where are you launching from, may run into you that weekend? Good luck!

Try fishin the mainlake points with a short arm spinnerbait, or try a jig for the smallmouth!!! Normally if u catch a largmouth on the mainlake it will be a pretty decent fish!! The kentucks will be hanging on those mainlake points.... If u dont have any success try switchin types of banks, normally of there not on one type of bank they will be on a different type of bank..

Thanks for the tips so far!! I appreciate it. Thanks for the e-mail Rangerman!!
To be honest, I'm not sure where I'll be launching from. This was a Christmas/Birthday gift from my whole family. They are renting a cabin on the lake...etc....and I have yet to find out exactly where we will be. I'll find out soon and let you know. Maybe we can hook up kent. :)
