Lake cabin...
I've been dreaming of a lake cabin get away for years. Saw a listing in the paper for "The Peninsula" on Lake Cumberland near Jamestown Square with several properties going on sale. Ad sounds pretty "gimicky".

Although I've been to Cumberland several times, I know little about the real estate. Anyone have an opinion on good areas on the lake to look? I'd like to stay towards the north end, since I live in Louisville.
I don't know what the drawdown is doing to the real estate market there, if anything. Might be a good time to buy, might be an aweful time, I don't know.
Any thoughts or advice appreciated!

Re: Lake cabin...
You may want to check out Apple Valley Resort. It is a gated 100 unit townhouse community on about 12.5 acres (pool, tennis, B-Ball) some have boat sheds adjoining the State Park about 3 miles from Wolf Creek Dam off US 127 on State Park Road. I think there may be 3 or 4 units available.

Re: Lake cabin...
They have sent me several ads in the mail. I agree it all sounds kind of too good to be true. I don't really know but I would be leary of this type of sell. Each ad would be months apart and always say something about a Grande opening. Each time? How many Grande Openings can you have. It sounds like a car lot ad to me. I think I would rather pay an Agent to find some property for me than to get caught in a gimmick for land.
