Center Hill Lake
Fished in a little company tourney this past saturday night on the hill. Water temps were 82-84 degrees...boy was it hot till the sun went down. Put in at the bridge and went up with hopes of doing some good. Only caught one largemouth that would measure after dark and I think partner (who caught it) must have threw it on top of his head, but had ALOT of hard bites on a worm, but they would not commit to take it. I knew the color or something wasn't right, just couldn't figure it out....tough..tough..night. :( Started out with a "old monster" worm, then down sized to a mag II, then went on down to a 5" small worm, and on down to a stick bait with no luck. Chunk or broken rock banks seem to be the best before dark, with main lake points after dark with stumps or laydowns were the best. Also pitched a spinnerbait and a jig some with not even a nibble...did I mention it was tough?? The guys that won it had alittle of 4 lbs. and another boat got big fish. At least we wasn't skunked...several boats came in with nothing except tales of catching some big catfish and drums:p . Like I have always said...the hill is either feast...or famine, and it was the latter this time with it winning over two tired fisherman. Tight lines and be safe on the water...283

283 --- sounds like Miller Time for sure after that all nighter..... wow ---been there many times on CH...even skunked a time or two so don't feel bad.... the reason those big time boys with all them wrapped boats and such don't fish CH is not because there is not a big enough indoor arena to handle the PR and hoopla as I've heard --it's really because they don't want to have their @ss handed to them and come up with zilch :-) on CH ............ 283 --- thanks for the report; again, I thought you had sold all your fishing gear and taken up golf or something --- haven't heard from you in a while...... tight lines.....

Hey Dover: Thanks for the shout...I have a good set of clubs in the basement, but they haven't seen daylight this year and only a couple times last year. You are probably right about the BIG boys on the hill, you don't hear about many big tourneys down there much anymore like you use to. Just wish more people would post when they go, it sure would help us guys who ain't down there 2-3 times aweek. Had a water pump go out on the boat but up and running now...hoping to keep her wet alittle more than in the past few months;) ...take care and be safe...Roger
