Re: ky lake / Barkley HELP!
Normally the fish are in transition during the first week of October...that means to expect fish to be on the ledges, back shallow and in between. Which is the better bite depends on how far along the fish are in transition and weather. Check my fishing report on Thursday night the week prior...it should point you in the right direction.
Re: ky lake / Barkley HELP!
I'm there every year around that time. We usually go the second or third week of october. The bite for us is usually morning and evening topwater fish on walking baits. These are always shallow fish in the creeks. The topwater bite can be very fun if your there the right time. During the day we usually catch them on a variety of lures (mainly crankbaits shad color) on the main lake. The guy that posted above would know best though. I usually get my pattern from his fishing report before I go. Good luck.
