are you running another finder at the same time?if so shut off the other one.if not it sounds like you may have an electrical interference problem that is causing erratic behavior.from trolling motor or something else electrical.and lastly it could be your transducer going bad or a bad wire in it.

I am running the same unit on the console, but we tried turning it off and it didn't affect the performance (or lack of) on the front unit. I will give Linda a call this morning and see what she has to say.
On another board it was suggested to me to just swap the units and see if the front one will work with the console display. Makes perfect sense, it was just too obvious for me to think of:o . If it works up front, then it would more than likely be the transducer or a wire to it.

roadrunner, I see I was in your neighborhood yesterday. I fished South Fork Lake there in Olney. Didn't do so well.

yes you were in the neighborhood it has beem years since I fished Olney but it use to be a great lake.
