I would like to know what kind of videos you would like to see on Fishin.com
Hey Jim,
This may not be a huge problem, but when I looked at the results of the poll, there are something like a total of 45 or so votes, but it reports at the bottom that there were only 15 voters. This would mean multiple votes by voters?? Also the % numbers are way out of whack.
As I said, maybe most don't care, and possibly neither you nor Peter care. I just noticed the discrepancy and wanted to let you know about it.
Danny
Danny, you (we) can vote for more than one topic, hence more votes than voters.
Grumpy.
I thought the same thing Danny but the poll only allows you to vote 1 time. Just make sure you choose all the topics that you want to see the time you do vote.
good to see we may get some videos ----- hopefully about fishing!!!!! don't need a video to see screw-ups and blunders ---- just come to Center Hill at one of the boat ramps on a nice weekend summer day :-)
I would love to see some videos of some fishing trips from the fisherman on here. Nothing serious just fun trips would be nice. Kinda like "you tube"

I set it up so that you could vote for more than one video concept.
I understand that people may want more than one of the eight concepts.
I will try to work on the top 3 or 4 in the near future..

On this subject...Anyone know of a video (CD; DVD; even VCR) on reading depthfinder screens? One that shows what schools of bait fish look like; what different structures looks like; anomalies, i.e., echo effect when close to a vertical bluff rock wall or when boat is dead calm and fish suspended while screen is scrolling and the like. Every time I talk to factory people attending booths at the Classic and etc they say "Yep, that is doable and don't know why their company (Lowrance/Garmin/Hummingbird) don't make one.
I am not sure if this is what you are looking for, but Lowrance has a great Tutorial on Sonars:

Hope this helps,
Grumpy
IF we had peopel submitting commercials would you watch them? Of course the other question would be.. would you watch them if they were relevant to what you were looking for.. Beyond that are you really NOT interested in videos like the one I shot with Benjy Kinman on Lake Cumberland and the Cumberland River concerning news around the state on fishing and hunting.
Jim Dicken
Jim,
If not for being on dial up, I would certainly watch them. I do occasionally watch a video over at BassFan, but they let you down load the video, and even save it on my hard drive.
As for commercials, uhmmmmm, if they were the same as the ones on TV, I doubt it. However, if it is more informative, and/or if it showed the specifics of the action of a bait, then I think it would be a very worthy commercial to watch.
I for one love the idea. I also understand with the help of Grumpy, dcbasser and you now how the voting works. Being able to vote for more than one is probably a very prudent option. I also then understand how the %'s work. I would imagine they report the percentage of voters voting for each of the options.
Thanks to the three of you for helping me out with the understanding.
Danny
same here my dinasaur dial up makes video useless,it now takes me forever just to get the front page to show up since you put the videos links on there, takes forever for everything to load up to go to the next page.
