How exactly do tournaments make money? When you pay an entry fee for a fishing tournament is it customary that a percentage goes to the event coordinator?
Just got into the tournaments and doesnt seem to be the same for all tournaments.

Not knowing your tournament that you enetred I can't give you an accurate answer. If you are in a bass club most entries are returned 100% to the anglers. Part of your annual dues may go towards other events. The coordinator gets nothing but an atta boy.
Tournaments are seldom 100% pay back. Local clubs would be one that should be. Most circuits run any where from a low of 58% to a high of 90% pay back at the ramp.
