Kevin...that sure is a good question! I can't believe that this lock on the river can't be operating like it should...for us that pay taxes on such!! Frankly Im pissed off about it!..They ought to tear the dam down...it ain't good for nothing! So much bull crap any more with our state goverment..and dept's, that supposed to be doing some type of work. That dam has been a sore spot in my craw! I know we have more things to worry about in this country....war...social secrity...polution...But gee wezz...the state can't pay somebody to opperate this dam at peek times...bull crap!
From what I heard last year from the lockmaster at KY River #1 was that all of the dams were going to be torn down and new ones put in place, but only on locks 1,2,3,and 4. Which is to Frankfort. But, he said it was going to be a 30 year project and that the money was already alloted for this program.
Now, to answer the original question---I don't know. If its's like in the past, their might be a certain lock time---but it is after Labor day, so I really don't know.
Kevin,
I heard that the lock was going to be down for at least 2 years, if it was even going to be repaired at all.

I was thinking of putting in just above #2 at Lockport this Thursday. You guys got any tips? Not asking for honey holes, but any info on general trends would be appreciated.
