Norris Lake
Hello to everyone. It seems as though info. or Norris is tight lipped. I am taking a group of men from church to Norris for fellowship and good fishing, but we have never been there. Any info. or the fishing there would be a great help. We will be doing a variety of fishing. Bass, bluegill, crappie, and maybe stripes. I do know that the lake is extremely low...any other info. would be great. We will be there Thursday through Sat. Thanks

Re: Norris Lake
Mustangwilliam --- I don't fish Norris but I found this post on the the BFHP website as reported by a guy named Harvey ----
Date Fished: 10/3/2007
Water Temperature: 72
Water Clarity: 1 foot
"Fished Norris Sunday and Monday. Tried to put in at Brogans Hollow, but the water is almost to the end of the ramp. Put in at 33 bridge. A lot of shad everywhere. Fished upriver during evenings and fished my way back to 33 and below toward lost sea. no evening topwater bite, which was a surprise with all the shad. Fishing seemed to be best right after dark and at daylight. Most fish were shallow, but could not get bit on spinnerbait. Caught all my fish on Plum or Electric Grape worms. At daylight, the fun began with topwater action. No big fish. A couple right at 3 pounds. But you can catch all the spots you want. especially at daylight with topwater. All fish released, except for a limit of spots each night. If the nights will get cooler, the fishing will only get better."
A guy named James replied -- I have heard of some nice laregmouth coming out of cove creek, and near the dam. I have not got to go myself but I am heading there this weekend. All the good fish have been biting jigs, is what I have been told.
Hope this helps and yes, most on the website read the posts but seldom make a post...tight lines and let us know how you do.....

Great post. Thank you so much for the info. I am not sure what part of the lake he is talking about, but hopefully it will be the same in the area of hickory star. I will post all of our results when we return. I will post either Sunday or Monday. Thanks so much for the help. I will try to locate that website and read more. This mid week things are supposed to cool down into the mid 40's at night and highs in the mid 60's hope this helps!! Plus a new moon.

Re: Norris Lake
you can also type twra in your browser bar and go to the state website for the twra. They always have reports updated on there and i believe Norris is in region 4. You are close to the area that the other report is from i think. I am pretty sure the 33 bridge is just up river from Hickory Star. There is also a guide that fishes out of Hickory Star whose name is Wayne Smith he is a very nice guy and i am sure he will help you out down there if you ask him for advice. If i was you and you plan on fishing with live bait at all i would get some before you go because it may be hard to come by down there. Good luck.
