Video: my fishing trip to Oneida Lake, NY

It took me a while to learn how to put this thing together, but she's done! The sound wasn't all that good of me talking, so I just cranked up the music. I had an awesome trip and would highly recommend Oneida Lake to anyone! They have a season of catch and release only for smallmouth and largemouth (that means they cannot go into a livewell at all, not even for tournaments!) that runs from sometime in the spring until June 15 or sometime around then to protect the spawn. When I got there, the catch and release season had just ended, allowing me to collect a few in the livewell for pictures at the end of the day. The fish were in post-spawn, meaning that there were fish deep, shallow, and anywhere in between! That place is super clear and absolutely full of smallmouth! My last day was by far the best, catching all my fish, all day long, on a Chartreuse Shad Gunfish...smallmouth, largemouth, and pike on topwater, what more could you ask for?! Talk about some explosive strikes!!! I hope to go back again one day, because it was one of the best fishing trips I've been on!
Let me know what you think! :)

The fishing up there is really good, I know. We go to Kingston, ONT. every year for the first to weeks of bass season. The fish are protected from any fishing until the 4th Saturday in June, and then look out they want to see the inside of your boat..lol

Very nice job :) I'll be looking for you on T.V. one day.:D
Re: Video: my fishing trip to Oneida Lake, NY
Alright Scott nice job but on the next one show some of you reeling and catching some fish. Holding them up is cool but let's see some action so you can make us feel like we are there with you. Just a suggestion, I'm not ragging on ya, just some food for thought.
Re: Video: my fishing trip to Oneida Lake, NY
Durn. I grew up on that lake and was disappointed to see B.A.S.S. go up there to my secret honey hole (the whole lake is a honey hole). You know it is that good when the PA Federation holds their state championship on it and the closest PA point is a good 4 hour drive. I love sitting there catching and watching the planes flying fishermen into Canada for one very expensive fishing trip to catch undersized fish. Now all I can hope for is that B.A.S.S. doesn't discover my other "Honey Holes" in the Leatherstocking Region. Glad you had a typical fishing trip. lol

I know exactly what you mean...however I was a one-man camera crew and couldn't get too fancy out there! I was happy with how it turned out, might have been better if I had a tripod and could have gotten some action shots.
Re: Video: my fishing trip to Oneida Lake, NY
Didn't realize you were by yourself, that explains it, I enjoyed it and I hope I didn't come off critical that wasn't my intent. Go Cards..........., Take me with ya next year and I'll film for you, lol.
Re: Video: my fishing trip to Oneida Lake, NY
Nice video Scott. Looks like you caught some good ones...and on topwater man that must have been fun. I am really considering heading up north somewhere this summer as well for some similar action.

So when is the UMF College edition going to be on TV Scott? Those were some nice fish you caught and looks like you had a blast up there fishing...I know I sure would have liked to have been in your shoes fishing that water.:)

It will start airing in January, probably the same night and time as the regular show. Here's a link for it:
