Winterizing boat
I am a new boat owner (not a new boat, but new to me.) I have a 21 foot boat with a 225 optimax and was looking for any ideas to help me winterize it so I can keep it running well. Any help is appreciated.
I also have a little bit of mildew on the seats that i just noticed. Any ideas on how to get rid of that also.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Winterizing boat
Quite honestly the most I ever do is: make sure all water is drained, plugs pulled, compartments dry, etc. etc.,drain and refill lower unit to make sure there is no water, and I add Stabil to the fuel. I keep my trolling motor batteries hooked up all winter and check them every couple of weeks. That's it for me!
I try to use my boat at least once a month during the winter season, so I don't totally winterize mine.
Might also check out your owners manual and see what they say.
Oh, you may want to look at changing your fuel/water seperator filter incase there is any water in it. Wouldn't want that freezing.
Good Luck.

Re: Winterizing boat
Clean seats with a Clorox magic eraser it's amazing. Don't rub real hard you don't have to. I do what MarkW said, keep fishing. One of my best outings this past year was on Jan 14th.
