Elnutsmalljaws back home again for now

After another 40 days in the hospital since the first week of October that had 5 different admissioins during this time, 2 Hernia Surgeries, 16 pints of blood put in me during 2 different cases of internal bleeding (from which we still don't know where it came from), I have retained about 40 lbs of fluids in my body for a reason that noboday knows. My legs, butt, stomache, hips are obviously larger and my scrotum is the size of a SOFTBALL - I am telling the truth a SOFTBALL. Taking Lasix to try to get rid of the fluid as soon as possible. I have 10 fresh new incisions to play with my old incision that is till open and about 3 weeks from healing. Monday they tell me that I have a Staff Infection as well, Peniculitus and Cellulitis in my stomache as well. I had both of these 10 years ago and it took 10 months to cure. More drugs for me to take to try to kill this staff has to be done as well. Pretty much I am walking wounded with no end in sight for me getting better any time soon. I am done with that Hospital and my doctor and plan on going to someone else tomorrow or Friday to start the process of changing doctors.

Thanks for everyones phone calls, emails and private messages. I reallly appreciate the concern. You don't know how bad I want to be on Dale this week chasing some smallies for the conditions look perfect. Good Luck to you all in hoping that you catch a good one. Wow ELWOOD what can i say, life sure hits some hard with bad luck--But i have met you and i know you will beat this thing buddy--before you know it you will be back at Horse creek putting that boat in the water at5.00 am with the weather being 8 degrees outside again lol :) :)

Glad you're settled back in at the house.

Elnut I'm praying for your quick recovery part of this is selfishness because I love your post on your fishing trips. I for one am glad you are getting a second opinion. Try and find a surgeon that sews people up with 17lb XPS fluorocarbon.

Our prayers and best wishes during this time of healing. This situation will take some time but things will get better. I am sure the guys with their mutilple talents on this board can keep you informed and entertained.

It's really good to hear you're out of the hospital and back at home! The way I see it, picking a doctor is a lot like a college picking a basketball coach. You may be the best coach in the world, but if you're not producing wins for your program, you've got to go. Similarly, that surgeon you've had working on you may be a good doctor, but given the results you've gotten, I totally agree it's time to replace him. Now, realistically, it seems to me you're most likely destined for more surgeries in the future. The one and only piece of advice I would offer is: don't go under the knife until you have TWO opinions, both agreeing on what is the best plan of action. (Measure twice; cut once) One thing I learned during my 6 years as an ICU nurse is that any doctor worthy of the title should have no problem with you seeking a second opinion. Anybody who WOULD have a problem with it is not someone I would want operating on me.
