SWIMBAITS
Fish eater has touched on a great topic, the year of the swimbait. Since I have started fishing with a shad bodied swim bait over a curly tail grub my catch rate to me has been at least 50% better. The places I fish these baits are mainly river systems though. No matter if it is for whites, hybrids, sauger, smallmouth, largemouth, kentuckys, has anyone else had similar luck with such baits. The rivers I fish range from ohioriver licking and the kentucky. The next thing I am going to try is learning how to fish these baits in lakes. I still fish a grub to I`m not trying to Knock a grub in anyway but swimbaits to me have really produced.

Re: SWIMBAITS
Last year was my first year fishing in several years, and I never did buy swimbaits for my tacklebox because I usually fish creeks and small rivers and didn't think they would be effective. (thought they were primarily for big, clear lakes) But the more I've read about swimbaits, the more I believe I need to give them a shot this year. Any suggestions on makes or models? I have no idea what to look for...

Re: SWIMBAITS
little dippers and skinny dippers by reaction innovations. both are durable, fairly cheap and with a wide range of colors. you can rig with a jig head or with a weighted EWG type hook to make them weedless. these are good baits to start with in my opinion.
