My brother and I are planning a trip to Cave Run lake in march. We have never been there before and we need info on low cost places to stay. We are thinking on spending three nights. We need ideas on where to fish for muskie.
Thanks for any help!

There is a Motel Days Inn I think right off the exit or you would have to travel on to Morehead and stay in a hotel there. Morehead is not far from the lake.
Now on the Muskie. You can fish at the mouth of any of the bays or head up the Lincoln River to search for them. I don't fish for them much but thats about what I do.
With it being off season and if you stay through the week rates should be a little cheaper.
Hope this helps.
There is a tackle shop and connected hotel right across the road from Scotts Creek ramp. It is VERY convienent, and the prices are right.
Cave Run Pro Shop is the name and is the home of TNT Guide Service. They are all great and will be more than happy to help you out as far as suggestions and bait selections. You might even think about scheduling a trip with them as well.
check em out!

I was trying figure out what river you were talking about but its the Licking River. Thought you might be fishing a lake in Illinois. I once had argument with a guy who was trying to tell me there were no smallmouth in the New River in North Carolina. Well we were both right, there are two New rivers in NC.
Thinks for all of the help! I'll check out that pro shop.
