Santee Cooper
Its me, Rngermac from South Carolina. I know some of you may be interested in Santee Cooper. You may be planning spring trips in hopes of that bigun. Well here is a little information that may help you plan your spring trips. Guys with big kahunas are getting out there and doing great.
These articles appeared in yesterday's local paper.

Since the lake is down and dangerous most people are fishing the Cooper River below the dam. The Cooper river runs from the lower lake to Charleston SC about 30 miles away. Approx 20 miles or so is all fresh and brackish water and is influenced by the tide. I am still trying to figure out the tide, I guess it's tough to teach an old Herrington lake fisherman how to catch fish in all this shallow water.
The river is loaded with big bass (check out this picture from 2/9/08 - http://www.cooperriverbassmasters.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2633)

Hi Don,
I have'nt really had the time to get out. I am planning to go to the lake this weekend. I am afraid to run much right now with the lake the way it is. So many people have been tearing up stuff.
To see the fish pic you need to go into "Dock Chat" and look at the heading "Oh my God, Ferris is my hero". I know the guy in the picture and I know he catchin em' the way you like it............flipping matted grass.
Later,
Charlie

Lake Murray is in the middle of the state upstream from Santee. Murray has planty of water. You should have no problems.
