Good Day on Ky Lake
My partner and I fished a tournament out of Kuttawa yesterday, had a real good day. We weighed in over 23lbs and took 1st place, 2nd was over 18lbs and third was over 17lbs. We culled out 3 limits and had big fish with a 7.79lbs. WHAT A DAY!!!! Did not have a fish until 10am, then it was like tuning a switch things just started to click. The plan we had was not paying off so we started trying different presentations and different water depths. Crank baits won out on ledges on main lake. It was a club tournament with the Lake Malone Bass Club.

Re: Good Day on Ky Lake
Ky lake is getting hot already! I had a great day yesterday as well. I don't know if I would have had a 20+ lb. bag, but did have more than a limit of keeper size fish. Had plans to be out all day today as well, but with 20+ mph winds, I decided I would make some jigs instead. You talking me about flipping a switch is dead on. I caught all of my keepers in between 10:30 and 1:00 - then nothing - but that 2 1/2 hours was outstanding.

Re: Good Day on Ky Lake
Well, then it humbles me. I couldn't catch a keeper on Saturday. I didn't get their til about 9 local time and never caught a bass til late in the afternoon. I fished every rocky point from the canal to Pisgah Bay on the LBL side and never one bass. I switched sides and caught two non-keepers.
Today---not much better. I fished Barkley and had one keeper---3 lbs.
I guess I have my work cut out for me this week down here.

Re: Good Day on Ky Lake
Had a pretty good wkend on ky/barkley. Saturday turned out to be the best day for me with 8 keepers which ran from 2 to 5lbs. I fished several points on the LBL side and only caught a couple, but one was a 4lb smallie. caught her on a Strike King jerkbait in the Sexy shad pattern. the rest of the fish (all LM) came off of creek channels on a 3/4oz football jig.
Sunday was a different story though I couldn't fish the main lake on Ky because of the wind. I fished Barkley and caught 3 on spinnerbaits and jigs. They should really turn on in the nxt few weeks.
GOOD LUCK to us all

Re: Good Day on Ky Lake
The bite was awesome this weekend. Saturday tournament out of Fenton took 27lbs to win. Sunday out of Paris it took 29lbs to win, 18lbs for eighth place. Skip the tournaments "thank God" because we would of got smoked. Saturday had 17 keepers and probably had 40-50 bass. Could not find the real big fish, bet sure had fun.

For: tfmuch
Offshore ledges? How deep? What type crankbait? Just curious as to how someone catches 23lbs.
