barkley has been slow... water is still heavily stained and temps around 44-46 the bite has not turned on yet, if it would quit raining and let the water clear up it would get better. by the 20th or so the bite should be close even if the water is stained, but if things stay the way they are, i would definitely head to ky lake
Dave Stewarts reports are as accurate as you can get. Check those out weekly, they will give you a good starting point for bass.
I've heard that the weather isn't going to change for the better until after Easter. Then there may be some spuratic days of sunshine and warmer spells. However, with the densly stained water and lack of intense sunshine in consecative days, plan on spending time scouting good spots for warmer days and better fishing. May I give you a word of advise. If perhaps you are taking a buddy whom is notorious for catching large fish and is also 6'5 and about 250lbs. You may consider wearing some sort of metal armor to prevent injury to your face when he strikes at you for conning him into a vacation in the middle of the winter.
You forgot to add age of 75yrs old and fair weather fisherman so i have a fishing partner half that age and is out for the BIG money at Barren ,far as Barkley the temp should be over your requirments of 50 degrees and you might have to stay in motel if raining my boat will get better gas mileage with out 250lbs dead weight in it
