Hardy Lake Crappie
Guys ,
The latest issue of IN fish & game says Hardy Lake is a great crappie lake and I was thinking of making the trip from Evansville to try it out . Anybody out there fish it much ? How good is the crappie fishing ? From the IDNR guide I found on the net Im guessing you can run any size motor . I would like to find a place to catch a limit of crappie without having to spend all day trolling open water { Otter Pit } or weeding through a bunch of 5" fish { Loon Pit , Bluegrass FWA } and the last place I could do that was Hovey Lake but its a joke now . Also , anyone tried to fish the Ohio for saugar ?

When are you planning on coming? I only live about 3 miles away and fish it about every week. It is a good lake if you can find them. I'll help you out all I can.

Re: Hardy Lake Crappie
Hey guys ,
Thanks for the tips , I hope to put them to good use . Im planning on trying to fish Hardy sometime on Good Friday week-end - I have that Monday off too for a 4 day break and hopefully it wont snow . I have had good luck with crappie on Good Friday in the past due more to the days getting longer and the spawn coming up . Another thing I would like to know is how clear Hardy is so I can use my underwater camera . Thanks !

I have not been out this year yet so I can't really tell about the water. With the weather we are having my guess unless it really starts to warm up would be to fish the timber around deep water. Since we are talking Hardy I would try to find water around 15 to 16 feet deep.
