Fireline and MicroFuse???
I have been thinking of trying these superlines on my bass rods this year. Mainly the Microfuse for my night fishing. I am a big Florocarbon fan but you cant get anything that shows up under a black light. I was wondering if any on you all have tried these super lines and what you all thought about them. I plain on using them on all applications other then my topwaters. I also plan on putting a florocarbon leader as well. Any ifo would be appreciated. I use a blood knot for my leaders, will this hold up with the superline and florocarbon together?
Thanks
Re: Fireline and MicroFuse???
I used fireline crystal this week fishing with horny toads and buzz baits. I will probably keep it on one rig for those applications. I have some of the smoke fireline but haven't used it yet so I don't know how it's visibility is under water. The crystal is white and very visible under the surface, that's why I used it for topwater. It is very strong line and won't break unless you have a tendency to backlash alot.(guilty as charged) The fireline has zero stretch, which is good when setting hooks from 100 feet away.
Re: Fireline and MicroFuse???
Bill Dance was endorseing a New Stren Microfuse superline. This fusedbraided line captures available light so the angler not the fish can see it. During the day, it's high-vis fluorescent blue; at night it glows neon blue. Near-zero stretch, super-smooth surface, and unsurpassed strength. Color: Glacier Blue Fluorescent. ( Bass-Pro ) This sounds like what you are looking for.
Good luck and Good fash-in Southwind

Yo Zuri Smoke Purple is supposed to be a Flourocarbon line that will glow under the black light. Good luck finding it for I ordered 2 rolls from a place that YoZuri sent me to and I got Smoke, sent it back and they sent back Smoke again, called them and they said that was all they got. Still got the 2 rolls of Smoke which I paid somewhere around $30 total and they will never see a reel. Good Luck
Re: Fireline and MicroFuse???
As far as the braids go the Stren is stiffer than the Fireline. Therefore the Fireline casts farther and handles better. The Stren is visible under a blacklight though and usable at night. Both are visible under water in the very clear water of a highland reservoir... however, only the fireline crystal will disapear when visibiility is around 4 ft or so. The colored water seems to help it greatly. The Stren however shows a pale blue tint no mater what the color of the surrounding water much like flouresent lines of a traditional monofilament nature. Hope this helps, I have both right now and this is what I see......
